Objective of the Madilu Kit Scheme
In this scheme, only women from BPL families and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families will be eligible to benefit under this scheme. This scheme provides a necessary kit containing 19 items that a newborn mother and her newborn child can use. The government aims to encourage institutional deliveries among the state’s population. This also helps in improving the health of both the child and the mother. This scheme is implemented by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka.
Eligibility Conditions for this scheme
The following eligibility criteria are required to get the benefit to Karnataka Madilu Kit Scheme:
- Women Beneficiaries should be permanent residents of Karnataka.
- Women beneficiaries should belong to the BPL Categories.
- A child of a woman beneficiary should be born in a Government Hospital.
- Women belong to the Scheduled Caste/Tribe Category.
- There is no specific age restriction for participation.
- Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in participating in skill development activities.
