Sewing Machine Scheme: The Government of India has launched the Sewing Machine Scheme to support women from economically weaker sections. This initiative provides free sewing machines to eligible women, which helps them start their own sewing business from their homes and become self-reliant.

This scheme is jointly implemented by the Central and various State Governments and is a major step towards increasing women’s empowerment, especially in rural and semi-urban areas.

Sewing Machine Scheme: Details Of The Scheme

The Sewing Machine Scheme is a government initiative designed to help women from low-income families become financially independent. Under this scheme, eligible women receive a free sewing machine, allowing them to start small tailoring businesses from their homes.

The project promotes self-employment, especially in rural and semi-urban areas, and supports women who want to learn or improve their sewing skills. By providing financial assistance, training, and easy loan options, the scheme plays a major role in boosting women-led entrepreneurship across India.
